Camp Fuel
White gas (sometimes referred to as Blazo or Coleman fuel) is the most commonly used fuel here. Airline policy regarding the transport of camp-stove fuel varies and you should confirm that you will be allowed to carry it with you on scheduled flights between Fairbanks or Anchorage and either Fort Yukon, Arctic Village or Kaktovik. The scarcity of alcohol and restrictions on the transport of compressed gas canisters make these impractical choices for stove fuel. By advance arrangement, I sometimes supply my customers with camp fuel in either Arctic Village or Fort Yukon if your travel circumstances make buying or transporting it difficult.
